LAAD’s commitment to ensure the implementation of its Social and Environmental aspects have a significant impact on its investment process and regulation approach, somuch so that our SEMS program (Social & Environmental Management System) works thoroughly to identify, assess and administer in an effective and attentive manner the Social and Environmental risks associated with our client’s production and operations activities.
SEMS objective is to ensure that only projects that aligned with its local and International sustainable requirements are supported by LAAD. Samples of our Green partners:

Avocado, Neira Caldas, Colombia

This Colombian owned company started operations in 2013 and currently has more than 1,100 hectares of avocado that represent 619,380 trees distributed within three municipalities, Neira, Caldas and Aranzazu.
The company currently holds Global GAP and GRASP certification, and it belongs to a group that has a solid focus on sustainability, following the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Since 2022, the group obtained the carbon neutrality certification and and has been recognized as one of the companies with the best performance in the dimension of targeting vulnerable and rural populations in the Colombian Private Social Investment Index by carrying out programs ranging from health promotion to female empowerment.
Nowadays this company is characterized by several environmental practices such as promoting the breeding and subsequent release of biological controllers to reduce the spread of pests and crop diseases, thus reducing the use of agrochemicals, generating a positive impact on the environment.

Organic Blueberries, Malalhue, Chile

This Chilean family company was established in 1972 to produce annual crops, nowadays this company is dedicated to the organic blueberry production. The philosophy of the production is based on a concept called “Biodynamic Agriculture” that builds its practices on the responsible use and management of resources due to the close relationship that human beings have with their environment and the earth, avoiding the use of chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides or GMOs and other artificial and toxic compounds. Production is based on manpower, so there are no mechanical harvesters, and the full production is harvested by hand. This company is totally focused on the well-being of its workers, nature, and the earth through organic production.
They follow a strict protocol on operational health and safety on the farms, where the harvest takes place from 07:00 to 14:30 hours and the employees can enjoy all the afternoon with their families.
This client currently holds Global GAP, GRASP and USDA Organic certification for their Blueberries and a clear vision of sustainable production.
