OUR LOAN PORTFOLIO
LAAD believes the stability and resilience of its business model is based on the diversity of its loan portfolio. Although the company exclusively finances agribusiness projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, we have been very successful in maintaining diversification in our portfolio, not only in terms of the industries that we finance and the countries in which they are located, but also in terms of the projects’ characteristics such as size, shareholder breakdown and vertical integration.
For example, despite both being involved in the same industry, a large coffee producer selling at a wholesale level and a family-owned coffee supplier selling specialty-coffee, have significantly different risk characteristics, of which LAAD takes into great consideration; through this strategic investment and targeted financing, LAAD continues to support productivity, sustainability and innovation within different levels.
